We are excited to invite you to the Joint Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (CSEE) and the Canadian Botanical Association (CBA), June 11-14, 2023. This meeting will take place in downtown Winnipeg, a mid-sized city renowned not only for its challenging winter and summer mosquitoes, but also for its vibrant cultural life, culinary offerings, and landscapes ranging from desert sands to Canadian shield lakes, boreal forest, and tundra. Most scientific sessions will take place at the RBC Convention Centre, allowing attendees opportunity to explore major attractions in the city during their stay. Optional pre-conference field trips will also expose participants to some of the natural wonders in and around the city.

 

Winnipeg is located on Treaty One land, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Dakota, Cree, Oji-Cree, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We are issuing a call for proposals for symposia and workshops and encourage proposals that further diversity, inclusion, decolonization, and reconciliation in fundamental and applied science and in education.

We welcome scientists and students from academia, government agencies, NGO’s and other interested individuals working in all aspects of ecology, evolution, and botany, including people from Canada, the United States, and elsewhere. We strongly encourage, and are working to create opportunities for, individuals from groups that are traditionally under-represented in these scientific fields to attend and fully participate in the meeting.

Proposals for Symposia and Workshops can be submitted from November 15-January 15. The Call for Presentations (contributed oral papers and posters) and Early-Registration is open from February 16 until March 31. For more details, see tabs under the "Participate" page.
